British Bear Artist Awards
I have searched high and low on't 'tinternet' to find a web page for the British Bear Artist Awards, to no avail. The organiser's website isn't showing any info either (quite literally, all I'm getting is a blank purple screen!) so, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I want to be able to promote the awards on this forum and also on the Guild of Master Bearcrafters, but without a central info webpage to direct interested bear crafters to, I'm struggling!

Ummm I searched before and there isn't anything. I would love to see a past winners page as well. You could email Wendy Hobday, I'll PM you the address maybe she is planning on having a page devoted to this (wishfull thinking here)

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
It's frustrating isn't it! I looked for the Wendy's World website but had no luck bringing that up either. Thanks for the email address Sue, I'm not sure I'll take part in the comp myself this year, but I may email Wendy for details and to ask whether there is a web page planned.

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
Just to let you know, I have now emailed Wendy to ask if there is/will be a webpage we can promote on BBN and the Guild. I'll let you know when I find out any more.

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
Have you found anything out yet Paula as I can't see an advert in the latest teddy bear times about the awards and that is the only place I have ever seen any advertising about the bbaa before. The next issue of tbt isn't out until around 20th July so that wouldn't leave a lot of time for advertising the awards

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
Sorry Laurie, I did email Wendy back in April, but haven't received a reply.
I'm surprised there's no mention in the most recent issue of TBT, especially as it's only being published bi-monthly now. As you say, it doesn't leave much time for drumming up support for the awards, which is a huge shame.

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
Despite my 1st place in the Miniature Cat' last year I really don't think I'll be entering this year
Last year the Fair / Results date was in November , but this time with it being just 2 weeks before Christmas
it's going to be just tooo much of a stretch - in time and money (it would be almost impossible to travel all that way
without an over night stay) Although it is wonderful , it is a huge commitment - maybe I'll enter every other year ??

I'm in two minds Ruth, timing isn't great for me either and I do wish the bears could be posted! I've printed off the entry form, so I'll have a think and see how I feel nearer the application deadline.

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
I entered last year but just haven't got around to it this year.I still have 3 commissions to do and with making bears for the show previews in magazines and fulfilling other shop orders I have just ran out of time.Oh and don't forget the bear swap I am doing and the challenges I have agreed to do.Maybe if I start making a bear soon it will be ready for next years awards

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
I do not have a final list yet, but I am trying to put a web page together to show all the finalists. It would be really helpful if anyone who has been nominated could send me a photo and a note of the category that they have been nominated for. Please send them to tbteditor @ btinternet . com (without spaces)
Thanks, Dawn

Re: British Bear Artist Awards
Hi everyone!! Just joined the forum and I've managed to send pics of my two finalists to Dawn.
I've also had probs with Wendy's World but have found Susan at Bear Basics the most calming influence throughout the agonising waiting game! BIG THANKS, SUSAN!!!!
Hopefully Dawn will manage to put together a web page so that we can all see the info we really need. (Susan has a full list of finalists on her web page if that's of any help)
